On chapter 1, we are
introduced to five main characters. Bruno who is the main character and a 9
years-old kid who lives in a big house in Berlin, her older sister Gretel who
has 12 years-old and to whom he refers as a "Hopeless Case", his
mother who is a very righteous women that is very devoted to her husband and
finally Bruno's and Gretel's father, who is a military with a very high rank,
since the Fuhrer has been to his house and in those times that never happened
unless you were really important. When Bruno talks about her sister, he calls
her a "Hopeless Case", and I could totally relate to him. Since I
also have an older sister that I'm always bothering saying that she is a lost
case for fashion, because she dresses like a 50 year-old lady and because of
the things she enjoys, like being the fan number 1 of Harry Potter and actually
believing there might be a magic world and we are just muggles. In my
opinion, chapter 1 was a very good introduction to the characters personality
and to what was happening during that time. Also it was very good described
since by reading you could figure out the time the book was occurring,
that was during the Holocaust and when Hitler was in control of Germany. So
in conclusion the first chapter made me happy and wanting to read more to know
what would happen next, so it kept me interested.
